How’s It Going?

Hello again

Now that I'm back into normality after the Instant Profit Seminar, life has returned to normal more or less.

And it's at this time after all the excitement and motivation of the Instant Profit Seminar has died down a little bit, or maybe even all together, that all the ideas and focus and good habits begin to dwindle a little bit for a lot of people.

Life, once again, starts to take over and all the good habits you swore you'd keep up have gradually disappeared.

For example I've got clients who are needing things done for their business, albeit small tweaks here and there but also I have new prospects phoning wanting to arrange meetings, so that takes up a good part of my time.

This is where it's the most difficult for a new internet marketer especially if things aren't going right for you, such as no one is signing up to your list, or maybe that blog isn't coming along as well as you like i.e no one is visiting or posting comments.

Your enthusiasm is staring to wane and the T.V in the evening looks more inviting than sitting down to work on your business.

And YES it is a business, not a little hobby on the side.

On the flip side, things may have been so hectic for you, and there's a possibility you'll get too far ahead of yourself.

Either way, you need to take a step back and look at where you want to be in a few months. Go over your goals again and visualise yourself succeeding.

If you're not getting the results you want, then maybe you're not putting enough effort in and you'll need to crank it up. Go to other blogs and post valid comments or go to the forums and ask questions or if you see a question you know – answer it. The more you do, the sooner people will start to take notice.

If you have faith, determination and focus then you can achieve anything. It puts me in mind of a guy called Eddie Kidd.

Eddie was the UK's answer to Evel Knievel back in the 70's and 80's although he never jumped the Grand Canyon. In 1993 he jumped over the Great Wall of China on a motorbike. He is the holder of many world records for jumping over cars and buses. He was also a stunt double in films, good looking and a hit with the ladies. But eventually Eddie's luck ran out and he was seriously injured in 1996 and sustained head and pelvic injuries.

His parents were told by doctors that he could be in a coma for 10 years, but he came out after months. Those injuries confined him to a wheelchair

On 17 April 2011 Eddie started the 2011 London Marathon, ditching his wheelchair at the start and walking the rest of the way, stating it would take "four weeks to complete" and that it was his "greatest stunt yet". On 6 June he completed it.

It shows what the human mind is capable of if you are determined enough.

Don't forget if you're having a mental block at the moment or not sure what you need to be doing now – then leave a comment or ask a question below. Alternatively you can hook up with me on facebook

Hope this helps

  1. Hi Doug

I totally agree with you and have said some similar things on my own blog since restarting it – I definitely know the feeling!

I have also added writing things down in a planner (I use Gary Simpson’s Time in Motion planner) and getting an accountability partner – it really helped having that call on Sunday after a two days’ maths course!

It IS difficult at times – don’t let people persuade you otherwise. But it is how you deal with it which is what ultimately matters.

      Hi Hilary

Yes it’s definately about making the most of any spare time, which is probably easier for me to say. Not so easy in your case.
Once results are seen then that in itself becomes the motivation and in some ways proof that all the hard work and focus is paying off.

The good thing about IM is that a person can go as fast or as slow as they want and still get to their end goal whatever that may be.
